We are excited to introduce you to our 2022 Christmas On Us recipients! Read below to learn more about our recipients from the folks who nominated them.
1. Travis
“He is a fixture in his community where he has built a relationship with many. When people are hurting due to sickness, deaths in the family, food shortages, or just in need of a helping hand or a listening ear- Travis is there to aide. He finds the need in his community-helping neighbors maintain their livestock, chores around the house, repair jobs, painting projects, support in prayer, etc…all with no expectation or want for anything in return.”
2. Nicolle

3. Nickie

5. Joseph

He also has helped many who were in gangs, drug addicted and many who had no hope and were ready to take their lives find healing and hope again”
6. Jose & Fanny
“This people do a lot of tirelessly work with low-income immigrant families in the city of Aurora. They also do so much work with at risk kids and teens. During the pandemic in 2020 they would go on weekly basis to pick up 50 families and deliver to each of their homes during the most dangerous part of the pandemic.”
7. Jerothan
“Jerothan and his wife, Irene, run a non-profit called Colorado Native Outreach Project. They assist Native Americans throughout the region (Colorado, South Dakota, New Mexico, etc.) with food, clothes, hygiene supplies, educational materials, toys, etc. throughout the year (they actually travel to the reservations to hand out these items).
They (and their kids) also serve the homeless here in Denver a couple of times per month (at the mens' and womens' shelters off Colorado and I-70). They also participate in toy drives, food drives, educational supply drives, etc. at various locations around Denver. And they feed veterans every year at the VFW on Thanksgiving.”
8. Donna
“She puts her heart into each of her clients daily. Even when off work she thinks of them and will buy things they might need.
Not only working 2 jobs but she also feeds her community weekly. Donna pays $50 a month to be a part of FERN. A warehouse where stores donate food that is still useful. Donna will go sometimes 2 times a week to deliver food to many families.

She has had up to 12 people living in her house at one time. She works two jobs, volunteers, sings on the worship team at her church and is a voice of advocacy for youth and young adults who have aged out of foster care and are needing support.”
These people are treasures to our community’s, and we are proud to be able to give back to them a portion of what they continuously give back. A few photos of some of the nominees are below.
Plumbline would not be able to help these great people without all of your hard work, so THANK YOU! We appreciate all of you.
December 23, 2021
We are so excited to introduce you to our 2021 Christmas On Us Recipients. Their nominators did such a great job telling us about each of them, we wanted to simply share their own words with you.
Kathleen E
Kathy is a middle school special education teacher at a charter school. She goes above and beyond for her students; making sure they have breakfast, snacks, drinks, and/or lunch if needed out of her own pocket. She buys sensory items, fidgets, and toys for focus and calming anxiety, from her personal account. She offers free tutoring for children in the community, buying her own materials, supplies, and books. Kathy volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) where she is paired with a child or children in foster care.
- Ann-Marie, Spouse
Chase A
Chase is one of the most giving people I have ever met. He will give you the shirt off his back without question if you are in need. He has a heart of gold and I feel like this gift would mean the world to him and his family. He continuously gives everything he has to give. Please help me give him something to show what an amazing person he is and help lessen the weight of Christmas for him and his family!
- Amber, Sister
Adam and Taylor H
A winter has not gone by without Adam shoveling snow for all the neighbors (usually before 7:00 a.m.), and if we ever have a package left on the front porch, Adam and Taylor always grab it for us and keep it safe. When a car was stuck on the hill we live on, the first folks out to help them were Adam and Taylor. When our community had a water scare and we were not supposed to drink from our taps, Adam and Taylor delivered bottled water to all their neighbors, on their own dime.
- Hanna, Neighbor
Dusty S
Dusty is an extremely hardworking single father. He works from sunup to sundown. He goes out of his way to help the residents of our community live comfortably. When a resident or team member is in need, he is the first to volunteer to help. He helps regardless of what it is, shoveling sidewalks for our older residents, helping residents carry up their groceries, fixing their vehicles, having his coworkers’ backs. Words cannot describe the difference Dusty makes in our little community. He is always there to offer help, a smile, a laugh, a shoulder to lean on. I know we could always count on him.
- Summer, Boss
Abel V
Abel has taken me to 100's doctor's appointments since 2012 for my cancer diagnosis. He comes to my house daily to help me get ready for my day brings me food daily. I could not ask for someone kinder than him. He not only helps me but anybody that knows him will probably say he has helped them sometimes. He doesn't have a lot but he takes pride in his things. He cleans up neighbors’ yards when he does his and tips his coworkers daily when they are not tipped employees. I can tell you all day long stories of other people he has helped. From the time he wakes up until he goes to sleep, he is always in the mindset of helping others even when he is sick. Please pick Abel he so deserves a good break in life.
- Connie, Friend
Jaydin J
This teenage boy is absolutely amazing! He is 13 years old and for over 6 months now he has been making lunches for us and bringing them to the hospital for us. Not only does he bring us stuff he also brings hygiene products, books, blankets, gloves, winter hats, and clothes for the homeless. I have seen him stop and hand out what he has to them. Some of them just want someone to show that they care and that is what Jaydin does. He has made me, and my co-workers feel more needed than ever especially with COVID when we are at our wit’s end and don’t think we can take anymore.
- Chelsea, Friend/RN
Steve and Kristine A
We first meet Steve and Kristine through our nonprofit organization (Brother Down) They had reached out to us for assistance when one of their friends was in a motorcycle accident and asked if we could do a fundraiser to help their friend out. Over the next few years, we have had the honor of getting to know Steve and Kristine. They struggle every day to make ends meet and pay their bills but from the time we meet them, they have never missed one of our fundraising events (In almost 4 years) They come to the events and volunteer their time to help sell raffles, run a silent auction, set up Tear down or whatever else we made need. We have no way of paying our volunteers for their time, but Steve always says it "fills his cup" to be able to donate their time to helping others in the community.
- Terie & Dean, Friend
Mike and Della C
The Curry family goes above and beyond to help others, even when times are tight. They have taken in people who needed a place to stay, they take children, pets, family members for a meal, a night or a week when it is needed. They had a single mom and her daughter living with them for more than a year after a difficult divorce. Della has a heart of gold and opens her home and puts on a meal for anyone who needs it. This year they are hosting a "Friendsgiving" for anyone who needs it. Despite their generosity, they have struggled like many families.
- Karen, Friend
Connor And Chrissi M
In the past year, Chrissi and Conner's third child was born so Chrissi has only been able to work part-time. This means Conner often works three jobs to support his family. During the year, he heard someone needed a kidney desperately so, despite his family obligations, he went to Chicago and gave a kidney. While recuperating, he worked his jobs, online, from the hospital, and from his hotel room. Also, because of some unfortunate circumstances, Chrissi's father lives with them in a three-bedroom apartment to help him out. In addition, Conner had to work at a hotel over Thanksgiving, so he planned and prepared a Thanksgiving dinner for all those who were in the hotel who had nowhere to go. After the dinner was over, the leftovers were placed in containers and distributed to 17 homeless people. All in all, they go above and beyond just the needs of their immediate family and give to others who need help. I feel their family would be an excellent candidate for your extraordinary Christmas gift. It would help them so very much this year. Thank you for your consideration of this loving, giving family.
- Kathleen, Chrissi’s grandmother
Rachelle Clemons
Rachelle is the most selfless person I know. When she saw in her church pamphlet that someone, she didn’t know needed a kidney, she went and got tested to see if she was a match. When she found out she was a match, she donated a kidney to this lady who she never knew before reading about her in the pamphlet. When she found out a single mom and her daughter needed a roof over their heads during Covid, she welcomed them into their home even though she never knew them before hearing about them from a church friend. This is just how she is. If she hears of someone in need, she is the first one to try to help. Even with small things, like someone needing help with quick home repairs, her husband is happy to come over and fix those items at no cost.

December 4, 2020
We are so excited to be able to share with you our recipients of this year’s Christmas On Us! We started with almost 300 great nominations.
Although it was a difficult job, we were able to narrow it down to 10 truly ExtraordinAIRy Treasures. Before we introduce you to those individuals, we want to thank everyone who helped us make this decision. Bob, Logan, Greg, Chris B, Wayne, Renche, Glenn, Kent, Leisha, Cherie, Rand, Dina, Austin, Cortney, and Matt all took time out of their days to help read our nominations and narrow it down to these 10.
In no particular order, first, we have Amanda. She is a domestic abuse survivor, a single mother of 3 and despite her struggles, she chooses to give back. Amanda chooses to volunteer at domestic violence shelters, donating clothes, diapers, woman hygiene products and so much more!
Angie and her family run a non-profit called Sparkling Kindness. They spend their time gathering school supplies for students and hygiene products for women in need. They also gave gratitude bags for frontline workers and teachers, Starbucks gift cards to police officers and so much more. Angie and her family look for any way they can to give back to those who are less fortunate than themselves.
Fred served 20 years in the Army. Like many others, he’s been struggling throughout this pandemic. Unlike others, he has continued to volunteer his time with the Hope Starts Here Food Bank. His nominator told us that Fred has a huge servant’s heart and is dedicated to making sure all the volunteers are giving with God’s love and grace.
Elizabeth is a veteran, former paramedic, and a former police officer. In her retirement, she and her family started a non-profit aimed at helping struggling veterans. During the pandemic, they were struggling to get the donations that they need. Instead of waiting for the donations to come in, Elizabeth went out and got a part-time job to help off-set their needs at Opportunity One.
Julia was nominated separately by 2 different people who she has helped. That alone shows the impact that she has on her community. Julia has a soft spot in her heart for the homeless community in her area and has created what they call a “homeless mobile”. She finds clothes, blankets, tents, etc. to give to the homeless.
Tania is a single mother of 6 kids, who goes above and beyond to help others. Even while she and her family have struggled, they continue to volunteer at children’s hospitals and food banks in the area. They are always the first to jump in and offer to help anyone they come across.
Veronica & Aldo are always willing to help the people in their community. They volunteer their free time to help with construction and repair projects, free babysitting, translating for people, and leading several ministry groups at their church. On top of raising their 3 older children, they adopted 2 little girls when their mother died of cancer. Ashlee said, “They really are the most quiet, humble, and kind people, always willing to jump in and help despite their own hardships.”
Latanya is a social worker who works within the Denver Public Schools. On top of that, she is a single mother raising her two nephews after her sister passed away a few years ago. She works with many at-risk children and with everyone spending more time at home, she has allowed her school kids to reach out to her at all hours of the day and night. Latanya continuously goes above and beyond to take care of her boys and her school kids.
Ellen has felt the pandemic just as much as everyone else who has lost their jobs this year. However, she never stopped giving back. Their family donated over 150 lbs of fresh produce to their local food bank, she tutored kids who needed a little extra help for free, donates anything she can towards a scholarship for disabled young people to attend Adams Camp, and on top of all of that, they do whatever they can to help their neighbors.
Monique has been helping students at DPS get online for home schooling throughout the pandemic. Even when she struggles, Monique will use her last dollar to help someone else.
This year has been a particularly difficult year for many people. Fortunately, we are still in a great position to be able to help those in our community. That is all because of your hard work. So thank you! Your hard work has not gone unnoticed!
