Plumbline believes that simple acts of service can make all of the difference in our own community. That’s why we’re proud of the employees who have volunteered at an incredible community project, Café 180.
Café 180 provides delicious meals to those in need in exchange for time and services. Instead of having to pay, people can learn to cook in a full-service kitchen, prepare food, and train in customer service and leadership roles.
“Our story starts in 2010 when our founders saw the issue of food insecurity in our Englewood neighborhood. They opened CAFE 180 with the mission of feeding everyone. Those who can pay, pay. Those who can’t pay give of their time in exchange for lunch, which on an average week amounts to 30-40 percent of our customers. Since we started, we’ve served more than 33,000 meals in this dignified exchange.”

Firefly Autism
Firefly Autism transforms the lives of children with autism and their families too. This wonderful nonprofit develops individualized treatment plans and offers programs to support each child's social, emotional, functional, educational, and occupational development. With services provided in the home, at school, and at their clinical center, Firefly helps every child achieve their full potential.
Urban Peak
Urban Peak serves Denver youth who are homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. They provide an overnight shelter, a daytime drop-in center, street outreach, educational and employment programs, and supportive housing. With the support of Urban Peak, young people get off the streets and on a path to living self-sufficient and fulfilling lives.

June 29, 2018 June’s Community Involvement includes two great organizations that are extremely important to two of our employees.
First, we had a few employees participate in this year’s Elephant Rock Cycling Festival. Plumbline Services has had employees join Team Zimbabwe in this festival the last few years and it’s always one of our favorite events! Team Zimbabwe helps raise money for the Zimbabwe Mission Partnership (ZMP). ZMP is comprised of 10 local churches here in Colorado that work together to support Heather Chimhoga Orphan Care (HCOC). HCOC was founded by a local retired couple to make a difference in Zimbabwe. The money raised for HCOC helps provide meals, pay school fees, provide medical supplies and so much more to the orphans and vulnerable children in the devastated African nation. Currently, the Zimbabwe Mission Partnership helps the Heather Chimhoga Orphan Care serve over 800 children.
Secondly, one of our Plumbing Service Professionals, David P., participated in the Annual Finley Firefighter Memorial Hockey Tournament. The idea for this tournament came about 16 years ago when a local firefighter’s life was changed forever. He got the call that no one ever wants to get, that his family had been in a car accident and his son was in critical condition. Luckily, his son made a full recovery! However, the firefighter wanted to do something to make a difference. This is where the hockey tournament comes in! All the proceeds of the tournament go to the Colorado State Patrol “Alive at 25” Program. This program is a 4 ½ hour driver’s awareness course that is designed to help young drivers, ages 15-24, become safer drivers. It includes defensive driving and decision-making/responsibility taking courses. Both of these events are so much fun, but more importantly they help make a real difference. Plumbline Services is honored and proud to help such exceptional organizations.
